 Jeff Majors

Jeff Majors was born in Houston TX and contracted measles at the age of six months. His illness was believed to be the cause of his profound deafness. After his parents’ discovery of his deafness, they put him in an oral school for the deaf in Houston.

Eight years later, Jeff’s parents were disheartened by Jeff’s lack of language. They heard about cued speech so their family flew to Gallaudet University to learn cued speech. They later fought for the use of Cued Speech in deaf education in their district which they succeeded. Jeff’s language has exploded and got mainstreamed into regular classes four years later.

Jeff graduated from McCullough High School and moved to Los Angeles. He attended CSUN to major in psychology however he developed intense interest in computers and self-taught on using computer programming languages. He has developed several high-traffic websites for several companies.

In 2005, Jeff moved to Austin, TX and is attending Austin Community College to pursue a degree in computer science. He remains a strong advocate for cued speech/language approach for the deaf.
