After attending the NCSA Cue Conference in Maryland in 2006,
Mary-Beth Robie discovered her hidden passion which is to
diligently work towards becoming a strong advocate for Cued
Speech. As the first cuer in Vermont she knows the struggle
families may experience when there are limited resources especially
in rural areas. Ms. Robie started returning the favor to the
Cue Community by producing some Graphic Design work for the
NCSA. Increasing collaborations with NCSA board members allowed
her to build a stronger network with other deaf cuers who
share similar personal experiences.
Ms. Robie currently resides in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois,
and is employed by RR Donnelley as Lead Photo Coordinator.
She has started the process of working towards a certification
to teach Cued Speech. As Regional Director of the Great Lakes,
her goal is to continue promoting Cued Speech and bringing
cuers together as a community to be able to share our stories
and learn from each other. Just Cue It! |
