Barbara LeBlanc is a retired speech-language
pathologist. She has 33 years experience in Louisiana in the
Ascension Parish public school system using Cued Speech 1979
- 2006. Barbara has a master’s degree in speech pathology
and an educational specialist degree in administration and
supervision of special education and learning disabilities
from Louisiana State University (Baton Rouge). She has presented
on a variety of communication-disordered and clinical supervision
topics at the local, state, national and international levels.
Her experiences include public school speech therapy and administration,
participation in advisory committees in the Louisiana State
Department of Education Level, LA A. G. Bell Association for
the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Louisiana Speech-Language-Hearing
Association officer and as an adjunct professor at Southern
University and Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and
the University of New Orleans. She is a professional member
of ASHA, LSHA, and A.G. Bell International. Currently, she
is a board member for the LA A. G. Bell Association (vice
president) and the NCSA board (Co-Director for the Gulf States
region). Barbara is also an NCSA certified Cued Speech instructor
and a part-time contractor for the Louisiana Department of
Education. She has published in the NCSA Cued Speech Journal,
the NCSA Cued Speech Resource Book, in the ASHA monthly
Auditory Perspectives, and in the A. G. Bell Association
for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the Volta Review Monograph.
