Polly Earl received a BS in Speech
Pathology and Audiology from Idaho State University and an MA
in Deaf Education from Texas Woman's University. She enjoyed
many years working as a Speech/Language Pathologist and Teacher
of the Deaf in public schools in Maine, Texas, and Hawaii. Ms.
Earl has served as adjunct faculty at Northern Kentucky University,
Cincinnati State College, and the University of Maine and has
given presentations on the communication development of children
with and without hearing loss at schools including the University
of Pennsylvania,Tufts University, University of Maine, and the
University of Cincinnati. Ms Earl has presented extensively
over the past 30 years at state, national, and international
conferences, primarily focusing on the benefits of Cued Speech
for the development of language and literacy. She received her
Ed D in Special Education from the University of Cincinnati
with her dissertation entitled: "Communication Behaviors
of a Young Child with Auditory Dys-Synchrony: Learning Cued
Dutch and Cued Spanish." Ms.Earl is presently the Program
Coordinator for Aroostook Outreach, part ofthe Maine Educational
Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. She consults to school
age children who have hearing loss and benefit from mainstream
educational placements. |
