 Joan Christenson

Joan Christenson

Joan Christenson is the grandmother of a delightful young girl with a profound hearing loss since birth. Paige's parents introduced her and her extended family to Cued Speech when she was eight months old. Paige is excelling academically as a mainstreamed second grader. Mrs. Christenson holds a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. After a long career as a software engineer in Aerospace and Defense systems at Honeywell, Inc. and ten years as a regulatory professional at medical device companies, she retired in 2002. Presently, she is NCSA Midwest Regional Director and was NCSA treasurer. Over the past six years, she has been active in the Cued Speech Association of Minnesota as treasurer, secretary, Minnesota Cue Camp 2001, and Camp Director planner for Minnesota Cue Camp 2004.
